Pipers Gap Rescue and the Galax Volunteer Fire Department responded to a trauma call on Knollwood Lane at 4:37 p.m. on April 13.
As described by Galax Fire Chief Mike Ayers, a man had been mowing near the top of a two-foot tall retaining wall with a riding mower when the mower rolled off, pinning the man underneath it.
